By now, we all are aware of the tragic event that took place on April 6 in Saskatchewan leading to the tragic death of 16 and injuring 13 men on their way to play a game they loved.
Hockey is something I personally hold very near and dear to my heart. The comradery that makes a team, the hard work and endless hours that build a team, the competition that fuels the team, the support of family, friends, and coaches that lift the team up. It’s seeing passion, perseverance, and dedication on the ice, right in front of your eyes.
I have no real words for the families or for the hockey community that haven’t already been said. But know this, we stand with you. We hold you all up. We return the passion, dedication, and perseverance that those boys showed for a game they loved, back to you all, as Canadians.
For the boys.
