Cast Frame Partials
This is probably the most common type and has a proven track record for reliable restoration.
Pros
- Moderately priced
- Generally good to excellent retentions
- Rest components guard against movement when chewing better protecting soft tissues and natural dentition
- Given the strength of metal design can be quiet thin
- Clasps can generally be adjusted to increase retention when required
Cons
- Metal areas if visual can be less attractive
- Some patients have allergies to metals
- Metal can conduct heat more readily than plastic
