Cast Frame Partials

This is probably the most common type and has a proven track record for reliable restoration.

Pros

  • Moderately priced
  • Generally good to excellent retentions
  • Rest components guard against movement when chewing better protecting soft tissues and natural dentition
  • Given the strength of metal design can be quiet thin
  • Clasps can generally be adjusted to increase retention when required

Cons

  • Metal areas if visual can be less attractive
  • Some patients have allergies to metals
  • Metal can conduct heat more readily than plastic
